NINE steps to strengthen Relationships!

  • Don't criticize, condemn or complain in absence.
  • Give honest, sincere appreciation in presence.
  • Arouse in the other person an eager want.
  • Be genuinely interested in other people.
  • SMILE!!!
  • Remember-a person's name is to that person the sweetest sound in any language.
  • Be a good listener.  Encourage others to talk about themselves.
  • Talk in terms of the other person's interest.
  • Make the other person feel important-and DO it sincerely!

Conflict Management...

  • Conflicts normally arise due to the I KE Syndrome(I Know Everything Syndrome).
  • A Cushioned Approach to conflict resolution rather than direct confrontation can work better.
  • Basically FIVE Categories of People we face:
  • "Vyasta"-Perpetually Busy, Have no time, always irritated, short tempered
  • "Susta"-Perpetually lazy, procrastinators, never on time, always demotivated.
  • "Trasta"-Constantly unhappy, always cribbing, spread negativity.
  • "Vasta"-Always complaining, cribbing, egoists, think of self as supreme &
  • "Masta"-Happy, Enthusiastic, Hardworking and Socialising.
  • Change Management: For managing conflicts, we need to exercise change management: We cannot change others, but we can strive to change/adapt ourselves.
  • Remember, good things in life are never easy-There is no free lunch!
  • Hearing Vs Listening: Often we hear, but we do not listen. It is important to listen as well as hear.
  • We only listen what we really want to listen
  • Listening Skills/Types:
  • Ignorant Type
  • Sympathetic Listening
  • Selective Listening
  • Attentive Listening
  • Empathatic Listening
  • 3 Keys to Conflict Management:
  • Feedback: Feedback should always be constructive. Unwanted feedback should be avoided.
  • Appreciation: Appreciation should be genuine. A smiling face appears better.
  • Introspection: Look within yourself, and be perpetually ready to learn, unlearn & relearn.

About Life!

  • Life is a collection of changes.  Don't avoid changes, take every change as a challenge. Some changes give success and some act as a stepping stone to success.
  • Life has no rewinds and forwards.  It unfolds itself at its own pace.  So never miss a chance to live today and to make a beautiful story for tomorrow!
